Meet Emily.

Hi! I’m Emily, the creator and owner of Harmonia Voice Studio.

“Music, in all its forms, has always been my safe space.

Now I want to make it yours.”

Harmonia Voice Studio was created based on a need I was seeing in the greater Washington DC/Baltimore area and vocal music community- a need for compassion, play, and community, all grounded with foundational and professional vocal technique.

I’ve seen singers (myself included) trying to “fit the mold” for what the music industry expects of them, leading to self-doubt, anxiety, and sometimes an ultimate withdrawal from music altogether.

In my studio, we will find your true, unique inner artist so you can express authentically and freely. Whether it be an opera aria or a jazz standard, you will feel confident that you’re singing not only true to the style but true to you.

Whatever you’ve been told you can or cannot sing in the past will be reevaluated with an open mind. There are infinite ways to make music, and I will help you reach your goals of singing what you want to sing how you want to sing it.

I’m ecstatic to offer Harmonia Voice Studio as a space to foster communal growth and learning for my students and fellow artists.

Music has been an integral part of my life since I was a little girl. I’ve been involved in music my whole life, ranging from high school show choir to roles on the operatic stage. Coming from a family of educators, teaching music has felt like a natural extension of my artistry, talent and history. I’ve been teaching 1:1 voice lessons since 2016 and love learning alongside my students. As a queer person, my identity shapes my impulse to push beyond the rigid binaries of traditional music education.

I’m proud to have received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Kentucky. I perform often throughout the DC area, most recently in ______________.

When I’m not teaching or performing, I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, cooking, doing yoga, crafting, and snuggling my diva tortoiseshell cat, Kida.
